FLEECE / AI BRAIN
Connector · File storage

Every doc your team wrote, findable.

Hundreds of docs, and nobody can find the one that matters — the knowledge is trapped in files. The Google Drive connector turns your Docs, Sheets and text files into notes in your company brain, on your own machine, where Claude, Cursor and your agents can actually read them.

The Fleece AI Brain Google Drive connector syncs the files your connected Google account can see into a local-first knowledge base — plain Markdown and SQLite on your own machine. Google Docs export as text, Sheets as CSV, and text files come across as-is, each with a link back to the original. From there, any MCP-compatible AI app such as Claude Desktop or Cursor can answer from your real Drive, with the source one click away.

What syncs from Google Drive

Everything text-bearing comes in as knowledge nodes — ordinary files you can open, link and search, not documents buried in a folder tree.

Google Docs

Each Google Doc is exported as plain text and becomes a note titled by its filename.

Google Sheets

Sheets are exported as CSV, so tables of numbers and lists come across as readable text your AI can reason over.

Text files

Markdown, plain text and other text/* files are fetched as-is, keeping their exact content.

A link back to the source

Every note keeps the file's canonical Drive link, so the original is always one click away.

90-day first backfill, then incremental

The first sync ingests files modified in the last 90 days; every run after that pulls only files touched since, resuming from a modified-time cursor.

Deduplicated, edits refreshed

A seen-ledger keyed on each file id prevents duplicates; when a file is modified upstream its note is refreshed in place.

Connect Google Drive in four steps

No IT project, no folder migration — one sign-in from the desktop app.

  1. 01

    Install Fleece AI Brain

Download the desktop app for macOS, Windows or Linux and open your vault — a folder of plain Markdown files on your machine.

  2. 02

Open Connectors and pick Google Drive

In the app, open the connectors panel, choose Google Drive, and sign in with your Google account. OAuth is brokered securely; your files never pass through our servers.

  3. 03

    Let the first backfill run

The connector ingests files modified in the last 90 days on the first sync, exporting Docs and Sheets to text and skipping binary files like PDFs and images.

  4. 04

Let it sync — then ask

Sync runs in the background and stays up to date. Point Claude Desktop, Cursor or any MCP app at your Brain and ask about a doc, a spec or a sheet you can't remember the name of.

01 · The problem

Your Drive has the answer. Nobody can find the file.

The proposal, the spec, last year's budget sheet, the onboarding doc — they all exist in Drive, somewhere, under a name someone chose in a hurry. Drive search matches filenames and a bit of full text, but it doesn't answer questions, and folders only help the person who built them. New teammates and AI agents can't read any of it.

The Google Drive connector frees that knowledge from the folder tree. Each text-bearing file becomes a note in one living knowledge graph, linked to the people, projects and tools it mentions — so the doc you can't name is still one question away.

02 · Local-first

Your files go from Drive to your disk. Nowhere else.

Authentication is a standard OAuth sign-in, but the actual sync calls the Google Drive API directly from the desktop app on your machine. Raw files never transit Fleece's servers or any third party — their text lands straight in your vault as Markdown and SQLite.

That is the whole trust model: we can't read your Drive, period. The notes are yours, they open in Obsidian or any editor, and if you ever leave, you take everything with you.

  • +Direct Drive-to-device sync — raw files never touch our servers
  • +Vault = plain .md files + SQLite, 100% Obsidian-compatible
  • +Works offline once synced; cloud sync is optional and end-to-end encrypted
03 · With your AI

Give every AI app your Drive knowledge.

One copy-paste connects the Brain to Claude Desktop, Cursor, Cline, Zed or agents you build. From then on, "what were the assumptions in the Q3 budget?" is answered from the actual sheet — with the source note one click away, found by meaning and exact words alike.

Because every agent and tool reads the same graph, you stop hunting through folders to feed an AI. On Teams, the organization map also shows which agents used that knowledge and what they cost.

Google Drive connector — FAQ

Do my files pass through Fleece's servers?+

No. Sign-in uses a brokered OAuth flow, but the sync itself calls the Google Drive API directly from the desktop app on your machine. The exported text lands straight in your local vault; we never see or store your files.

Which files does it sync, and what is left out?+

Google Docs (exported as text), Google Sheets (exported as CSV) and text files such as Markdown or plain text. Binary and opaque files — PDFs, images, archives — are deliberately skipped, and trashed files are never read. You scope it by what the connected Google account can see.

Does it modify or delete anything in Drive?+

No. The connector is read-only: it exports text into your knowledge base and never creates, edits, moves or deletes anything in your Drive.

How often does it sync, and does it catch edits?+

The first sync backfills the last 90 days; after that each run resumes from a modified-time cursor and pulls only files touched since. When a file is modified upstream its note is refreshed in place, and re-syncs never create duplicates.

Which plan do I need to connect Google Drive?+

The local brain is free, and connectors are the paid lever: Solo (€12/month) includes up to 3 connected tools, Pro (€24/month) makes them unlimited with auto-sync and the Janitor AI that auto-merges and archives. Every plan starts with a 14-day trial, no card required.

How do I ask Claude or Cursor about my Drive?+

Connect the Brain to Claude Desktop, Cursor or any MCP-compatible app with a single copy-paste. Your AI then answers from the synced Drive knowledge — matching meaning and exact words locally — and cites the exact note it drew from.

Can I open the synced files outside the app?+

Yes. Every file's text becomes an ordinary Markdown note in your vault, fully Obsidian-compatible — open, edit or grep them with any tool, and take them with you if you ever leave.

What happens if I disconnect Google Drive?+

Sync stops, and everything already in your vault stays yours — the notes are local files, not a mirror that vanishes with the connection.
